Application closing date:    Due to the urgency of filling this vacancy, suitable candidates will be interviewed as and when they apply and the role will be closed as soon as a suitable candidate has been sourced.

To assist and support the Stadium Safety Management Team in ensuring, as far as reasonably practical, the safety of everyone attending events at the St Andrews Stadium, in accordance with the Safety Certificate terms and conditions, Guide to Safety at Sports Grounds and the Club’s Policy Statement of Safety.

CORE RESPONSBILITIES

  • Notify steward to commence duties on a matchday through our internal tannoy system once the Safety Officer has confirmed.
  • Distribute radios to the relevant staff members and ensure all radios are switched to the correct channel.
  • Complete CCTV checks to confirm all cameras are in working order and recording capabilities are functioning correctly.
  • Support and assist radio operator in the Control room in the pre match build up to the event.
  • Monitor stewards completing their pre match checks and bring to the attention of the Safety Office any irregularities observed or issues.
  • Ensure all Exit Gate Stewards are in position and monitor to ensure tasks are being carried out quickly and precisely. Report and issues or build up of supporters in one area.
  • Monitor incidents within the crowds, produce still images of persons identified allegedly breaking the law/breaching ground regulations; provide those images to police/match day stewards to enable them to deal with the incidents more effectively.
  • Monitor and identify persons allegedly breaching the grounds regulations and/or breaking the law and advise the Safety Office. This will enable the Safety office, matchday staff, and police to identify the offenders.
  • During the event, monitor the immediate confines of the stadium, to identify late arrivals and other incidents of note external to the stadium.
  • At the conclusion of the event, monitor all external areas to check egress of spectators form the area.
  • The carry out all responsibilities with due regard to the Club values and policies and procedures, in particular Health & Safety, Equality and Diversity and Safeguarding.
  • At the end of duty back up CCTV footage, power down CCTV Items, and switch off recording to computer hard drive.
  • Carry out any specific instructions given by the Safety Officer.
  • To undertake any required training for the role including mandatory Club training.

This role is regarded as a ‘Regulated Activity’ and is therefore subject to an Enhanced DBS check, (previously a CRB check) which includes the barred list for working with children. This post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974
